So what can we do to\u00a0eradicate\u00a0our texting and driving problem?\r\n\r\nThere are plenty of ideas floating around the internet. \u00a0One of which being blocking cellphone signals in cars all together.\r\n\r\nOther people have suggested using HUD displays on a car’s windshield. \u00a0An HUD is\u00a0any transparent display that shows data on a glass’ surface.\r\n\r\nThis would make\u00a0receiving\u00a0text messages less\u00a0distracting, but maybe more\u00a0embarrassing\u00a0since they’d be projected directly onto your windshield.\r\n\r\nSome people have even gone as far as to suggesting self-driving vehicles. \u00a0Essentially, the car would switch onto autopilot while the driver answered a text message.\r\n\r\nThis isn’t a joke.\r\n\r\nI’m not telling you to put down your cellphone for my own benefit.\r\n\r\nTexting while driving is a deadly practice, and more and more accidents are popping up all over the country.\r\n\r\nOver 50% of the United States have already made texting while driving illegal and punishable by law:\r\n- \r\n \t
